Quick guide: maps & directions

University location

The Campus is located approximately 4 km south of Mytilene, the capital city of Lesvos island, and is easily accessible both from downtown and the Odysseas Elytis airport. Please view our map page for further information and downloadable material.

Arrival to Mytilene, Lesvos island

Arrival by plane: The Odysseas Elytis international airport (code MJT) has several daily connections to Athens and Thessaloniki. Direct charter flights from UK, Germany, Spain and other countries can be also used, however they are usually available during the summer period.

Arrival by ferry: Multiple ferries to Mytilene depart from Piraeus port, Athens, and run all year round on a daily basis. Ferry services also operate from Thessaloniki & Kavala (northern Greece), however visitors are strongly encouraged to consult their travel agency for availability and timetables.

Getting to the Campus

Public transportation: Public bus services are linking directly the Mytilene city centre (map) with the Campus. Bus services connecting Mytilene and the Odysseas Elytis airport can also be used, however these may require a further 5-minute uphill walk to the University Hill Campus.

Travelling by car: The Campus is approximately a 10-minute drive both from Mytilene centre and the Odysseas Elytis airport; several car rental services are available to visitors.

Travelling on foot /by bike: The Campus is approximately a 40-minute walk or a 15-minute bicycle ride from Mytilene city centre. Extra caution should be paid across the coastline driveway, due to traffic, regular crosswinds and limited sidewalk space.
