Undergraduate program
Undergraduate studies at the Department of Marine Sciences combine high quality Oceanography modules with a significant amount of specialized lectures, workshops, laboratory exercises, and field work. The mature and focused undergraduate curriculum provides students with an in-depth knowledge of Oceanography and its related marine sciences, and equips them with highly competitive transferable skills.
The four year undergaduate curriculum includes:
- A carefully planned combination of mandatory and optional modules, that allows students to obtain a solid background during the first academic semesters, and specialize on particular scientific areas as they progress through their studies.
- Summer internships for on-the-job training, regular lectures from visiting researchers, field work and laboratory exercises, as well as plenty of opportunities for international exchange programs.
- A mandatory individual thesis project that calls upon students to elaborate on a particular research subject and demonstrate their research ability.
