Sofia Pappou

Research
PhD research focusing on the exploitation of marine bioactive compounds for the use in innovative fishfeeds and post-doctoral research focusing on the evaluation of marine and herbal extracts on the growth and biochemical composition of cultured fish as fishfeed additives.
Teaching
Within the undergraduate programme of the current semester 2024-2025, I teach the courses of "Ichthyology" and "Fish Diseases".
Professional activities
As a member of the Laboratory of Ichthyology, Aquaculture and Fish Diseases, I work on research projects related to the exploitation of marine organisms through the extraction of bioactive compounds as well as the study of innovative fishfeed additives towards the improvement of fish growth and immune system within the aquaculture industry.
