Download here if it's a first time installation
Before running photoQuad for the 1st time ever on your PC, you must install the MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCR) that is included in this download. The MCR only needs to be installed once. After that you can download the newer photoQuad versions that do not include the MCR component, so that your downloads are smaller.

About the MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCR)
The MATLAB Compiler Runtime (MCRinstaller) is a stand-alone set of libraries that enables the execution of compiled MATLAB applications on computers that do not have MATLAB installed. It provides all of MATLAB's functionality to the end-user, but no interactive interface. Installing the MCR allows you to run compiled MATLAB applications (such as photoQuad), but does not grant you a license to use MATLAB for code development.
The MCR only needs to be installed once. After that, you can download the newer photoQuad versions that do not include the MCR component, so that your downloads are smaller.
If you already have MATLAB installed on your PC, you can install the MCR without any conflicts whatsoever, regardless of the MATLAB version that you're using. Just make sure you install the MCR on a directory that is not in the MATLAB path; use the recommended directories provided in photoQuad's installation instructions.
Overall, this is similar to running a Java or Flash application on your brand new PC. They will not run without their Runtime Environment. To run them, you must install the Java Runtime Environment (Windows usually do that for you) or the Macromedia/Adobe Flash Environment (websites usually ask you to do so). The same applies for MCR and your computer's ability to run MATLAB executables.
