Support infrastructure
The main infrastructures that support the Department are the Department Secretariat, the University Information Technology Services and the University Administration and Research Units.
The Department has been initially funded by the "Expansion of Higher Education of the University of the Aegean" (1999-2004). After 2005 its income stems from the National Regular Budget of the University of the Aegean. Laboratory consumables and other laboratory/research needs are usually covered by funds from the Research Programs of the Department stuff.
