Measurement tools
Description
Measurement tools are simple draggable objects that facilitate the quick measurement of distances, areas, and angles on the digital image. They have no worksheet export, and they do not interfere with the main photoquadrat analysis objects in any way.
Highlights
Measurement tools operate on a separate layer
Choice between permanent or "click and measure" mode
Tools are draggable objects that can be re-positioned on the image
Measurements are automatically converted from pixels to metric units upon calibration, and vise-versa

The distance tool is a draggable, resizable line that is superimposed on the image, and measures the distance between the two endpoints. The software measures the distance in pixels, and if (or when) the image is calibrated, it automatically converts it to centimeters.
The user can choose between the permanent or the "click and measure" mode. In the first option, the distance tool remains visible on the image (until deleted), while multiple tool instances can coexist. If just a temporary distance measurement is required, the "click and measure" mode provides a quick measurement with a single click, and the tool is automatically deleted without being registered into a layer.

The diameter tool is a draggable, resizable circle that is superimposed on the image, and measures radius and diameter. The software measures the circle's radius and diameter in pixels, and if (or when) the image is calibrated, it automatically converts them to centimeters.
The user can choose between the permanent or the "click and measure" mode. In the first option, the diameter tool remains visible on the image (until deleted), while multiple tool instances can coexist. If just a temporary diameter measurement is required, the "click and measure" mode provides a quick measurement with a single click, and the tool is automatically deleted without being registered into a layer.

The area tool is a draggable, resizable rectangle that is superimposed on the image, and measures both the length of the rectangle's sides and rectangle's area. There is no "click and measure" option for this tool. The software measures the quantities in pixels, and if (or when) the image is calibrated, it automatically converts them to metric units.

The angle tool measures angles in degrees (0o - 360o). Image calibration has no effect here, and there is no "click and measure" option.
